The International Day against Homophobia (IDAHO) is held in May every year.

It aims to highlight the prevelance of Homophobia (including Transphobia and Biphobia) in society and the impact of language on the LGBT community.

With the passing of the same sex marriage bill, it is assumed by many that equality has been achieved, however the following facts are still true:

·         LGBT youth are more likely to experience Bullying.

·         An Estimated 1 in 6 rough sleepers identify under the LGBT spectrum.

·         Around 100 LGBT hate crimes are reported each week in the UK.

·         Members of the LGBT community are at higher risk of experiencing suicidal

feelings, self-harm, drug or alcohol misuse and mental health problems such

          as depression and anxiety.

Last year as part of our awareness campaign Directors Barry Heap and Alex Baguley walked across Warrington and visited various local buisnesses and landmarks to promote LGBT awarenes.  The journey covered more then 15 miles and ended outside IKEA around 19.00.
